Engineering organisations
The repository nobody can paste.
Engineering teams hold the clearest case for local models: the most valuable corpus in the building is source code, and source code is exactly what cannot be sent to a hosted assistant.
The situation
The knowledge that matters is not in the documentation. It is in commit messages, design discussions, incident channels and the working memory of engineers who have since left.
A hosted assistant would answer these questions well, and cannot be used, because the price of asking is transmitting proprietary source to a third party under terms you do not control.
What we build
Code intelligence on private repositories
Ask questions across a codebase that cannot leave the network. Retrieval runs against your own index, on your own hardware, with no source in flight.
Incident review
Postmortems assembled from logs, tickets and chat inside the perimeter, with each claim pointing back at the artefact it came from.
Institutional memory
The design decisions of people who have left, made answerable again — including the reasoning that never made it into a document.
Specification to test
Draft coverage from the specification in your house idiom, for your engineers to review and own.
Source code is not a document you can re-send
Once a repository has been transmitted to a third party, no contractual assurance restores the position you were in beforehand. The only reliable control is not to transmit it. That is the entire design.
What changes
- New engineers reach useful context in days rather than months
- Incident write-ups stop depending on who happened to be awake
- Architectural rationale survives the people who set it
